You have found my little corner of the internet. You may be wondering at this point, "What is yshroo?" Well, it takes some inspiration from my initials. It also takes inspiration from an inflection of a Hebrew adjective, ישר, which means "straight, straightforward, level, honest, sincere," etc.

Around the time I was thinking to start a website, I heard the following:

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I will meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about
language, ideas, even the phrase each other
doesn't make any sense.

This lead me to start kicking around the idea of a site as a platform to explore various topics in critical thinking and communication. So I acquired this domain, and initially setup my site. Then I searched "yshroo", and just about every search engine asked, "Did you mean: yahoo?" Hmmm, maybe yshroo.com was not such a hot idea. But still, I like it. It's my little corner of the internet.

Over the years I let the frontend languish. I wrote a page here and there, updated my css, javascript, and frameworks, but did not push them from my test servers to the live site. What I spent most of my time on was a variety of backend technologies. (All for practise and learning,) I setup a number of databases, a simple e-commerce site, an ERP system, a self-hosted Wordpress blog, a URL-shortener, and some other side projects. I've been having a lot of fun with these projects, but it's time to get back to my original intentions.
